Harry Kapeliaris – Return

MusicMirror Records has recently released the second CD by guitarist/composer Harry Kapeliaris titled “Return” featuring ten instrumental compositions. In this work, the guitarist employs his skill on the instrument in the service of expression and composition rather than focusing on guitar chops alone. The melodies may be classified as fusion but also dwell in the wider ethnic region of the Mediterranean.
Recent years have seen the emergence of a fusion movement in the region of Greece, a movement which has also undoubtedly been fueled by the arrival of major artists in the field of fusion for concerts and seminars. At the same time, Greek musicians make their strong presence in the domestic and international arena showcasing their works and musicianship.
The record was completed with the collaboration of the following musicians: Harry Boutselakis – bass, Chris Basios – keyboards, Nikos Saleas – clarinet, Theodore Goumas – drums, Bob Tsilivigos – saxophone, and guest guitarists Thanasis Giokas, Theodore Ziras and Derryl Gabel from the US.A diverse collection of instrumentals from a talented composer.

ΧΑΡΑΛΑΜΠΟΣ ΚΑΠΕΛΙΑΡΗΣ - ΕΠΙΣΤΡΟΦΗ
Κυκλοφορεί από τον ΚΑΘΡΕΦΤΗ το δεύτερο CD του κιθαρίστα Χαραλάμπου Καπελιαρή ΕΠΙΣΤΡΟΦΗ (RETURN) που περιέχει δέκα ορχηστρικά. Στο CD αυτό o κιθαρίστας δε χρησιμοποιεί την δεξιοτεχνία ως αυτοσκοπό αλλά ως μέσο έκφρασης της σύνθεσης. Οι μελωδίες του εντάσσονται εκτός από την fusion στον ευρύτερο μεσογειακό μελωδικό χώρο (ethnic).
Τα τελευταία χρόνια έχει αρχίσει να δημιουργείται ένα ρεύμα γύρω από την fusion και στον Ελληνικό χώρο (αρκετοί διάσημοι καλλιτέχνες έρχονται και παρουσιάζονται με συναυλίες και σεμινάρια) ενώ αντίστοιχα έλληνες μουσικοί δίνουν το παρών τόσο στον ελληνικό όσο και στον διεθνή μουσικό χώρο.
Για την ολοκλήρωση του δίσκου συνεργάσθηκαν οι μουσικοί Χάρης Μπουτσελάκης στο μπάσο, ο Χρήστος Μπάσιος πλήκτρα, ο Νίκος Σαλέας κλαρίνο, Θοδωρής Γκούμας ντράμς, Μπάμπης Τσιλιβίγκος σαξόφωνο και οι κιθαρίστες Θανάσης Γκιόκας, Θοδωρής Ζήρας και ο αμερικανός Derryl Gabel.
